New voters list Demanded

CHITRAL: A prominent JUI leader of
Chitral Qazi Muhammad Ishaque has demanded of the government to
revise the voters list before the forthcoming local bodies polls to
give the new generation their right of voting. In a press statement
issued here on Sunday, he said that it is necessary to include the
youngsters in the election process who have recently come of age.
He also demanded of the government to dispatch mobile teams of
NADRA to the distant villages of upper Chitral to facilitate those
who have yet to get computerized national identity cards. He said
that very few people afforded to travel to district headquarters to
visit the NADRA offices to apply for identity cards. Mr. Ishaque
said that without computerized national identity cards, thousands
of young people will not be eligible to get themselves registered
as voters.
