FLOODS, A NATURAL CALAMITY

In Khaibar Pakhtoon Khwa at one side due to terrorist activities, extremism, the people are facing problems and tensed situations and on the other side heavy monsoon rains proved to be a historic destruction. Provincial capital Peshawar and the places near by, Charsaddah, Noshehra, Kohistan, Kohat, Sawat, Shangla, Dair, Dera Ismail Khan, Hazara and other places are badly affected by heavy rains and flood. Flood ruins dozens of residential areas and leaving lacs of people homeless. Communication system ruined completely. Peshawar was completely cut off from other regions due to flood. According to information received by the Government till 5th of August, 2010 that more than 100 bridges shed off in the form of wreckage. More than 1600 people died and 25 lac people become victim in the province. The agricultural sector highly affected.
Infrastructure was totally devastated. After this terrifying calamity, the Government was found doing nothing and there were no instantaneous rescue operations. And due to this people were left alone to struggle. There is scarcity of food and medicines, clothing and clean drinking water. Hence, people are deprived of basic facilities of life.

Weather forecasting agency, keep on forecasting heavy monsoon rains but the Government paid no attention towards this issue. No steps were taken to protect these areas that are the centre of floods every monsoon.

After the heavy rain of 28 and 29 July and flood there were no activities from the Government. And flood breaks the record of destruction. On 30th of July, 2010 the administration showed some progress by increasing the number of helicopters and boats to rescue the victims. On 4th of August, 2010 flood destroyed 130 villages of Peshawar causing the loss of 8 million. During the heavy rain Peshawar was blackout for 24 hours and rural areas for 72 hours.

The provincial government had 25000 tents which were provided to the victims. Lacs of people are affected by the flood; there is a need of permanent solution for this problem. The sewerage system should be made effective. The Government should provide heavy machinery so that the people star rehabilitation. Clean drinking water should be available to the people to avoid many epidemics. The victims are receiving inadequate supply of food. No doubt Government and other private organizations provided them, tents and food items which lessen their problems but still they need more assistance to rehabilitate themselves. We cannot even think of their loses, as they lost their loved ones, property, cattle, crops, hence everything. We should join hands to show integrity as before on 8th of October, 2005 Earthquake.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer . It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

French fries and Burgers are the biggest enemy of heart health. A coke after that gives more power to this demon. Avoid them for your Heart's Health
