Hoarded Ghee recovered by DCO

coordination officer Rahmatullah Wazir raided a number of whole
sales dealers of ghee in Chitral bazaar and recovered thousands of
tins of the commodity being hoarded by the traders. He put to open
sale on the occasion whole of the recovered product at normal rate.
The residents of Chitral faced acute shortage of ghee after the
collapse of Chakdara bridge while some of the local traders have
allegedly hoarded the commodity. The local police nabbed Haji
Musafar Khan and others and cases were registered against them
under Food Act. Meanwhile, the Chitral DCO has asked the people of
Chitral to extend cooperation to the district administration to
unearth the hoarded commodity by supplying authentic information.
He said that the hoarders and illegal profiteers will be dealt with
severely during the holy month of Ramazanul Mubarak. He said that
surprise and periodic visits of the market will be carried out
during the month.
