HASHOO Foundation organizes two week summer camp for School

CHITRAL: Certificates were awarded among the participants of
the summer camp in a ceremony held in Human Development Resource
center of Hashoo Foundation Chitral in Balach. Assistant
Coordination officer, Miftahuddin was the chief guest on the
occasion. Hashoo Foundation had organized a two week summer camp
for the school children to involve them in curricular and extra
curricular activities during summer vacations. A total of 47
students from ten different schools participated in the camp to
harness their hidden potentials. The major themes of the summer
camp were information and Communication Technology, English
Language, Art and Craft, Life Skills and activity based Exposure
Visit.
Speaking on the occasion the guest of honor Mr. Miftahuddin,
appreciated the efforts of Hashoo Foundation to provide opportunity
to the youth of Chitral to explore their
hidden potentials by organizing such events. He hoped that Hashoo
Foundation will continue to organize more such events in future. He
also urged the participants to concentrate on their education and
enhance their technical skills to coup with the future economic
challenges and enable themselves to compete with others.
Mr. Amir Muhammad, Regional Programme Manager, FOCUS Humanitarian
Assistance Pakistan was also present on the occasion. Earlier
Sultan Mehmood, Regional Program Manager HF Chitral welcomed the
guests and highlighted the thematic areas around which Hashoo
Foundation works in the district of Chitral and in other parts of
Pakistan. He particularly referred to Human Resource Development
center which has been established to impart training to the youth
on marketable skills and link them with the job market.

SRSP restores water supply schemes of flood
effected areas

CHITRAL: Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) reinstated
the water supply schemes of four villages Booni, Junali Kotch,
Zaiet and Reshun which had been washed away by the recent
torrential floods. Regional programme manager of SRSP Chitral Salim
Shah told this correspondent that the residents of the affected
villages faced acute shortage of drinking water and were forced to
fetch the commodity from a long distance of more than ten
kilometers. He said that on the special directive of the chief
executive officer of SRSP Shahzada Masoodul Mulk, the workers of
the organization struggled hard to restore the facility. He said
that the organization provided water pipes and other allied
materials for the restoration of the water supply schemes. Mr. Shah
SRSP has always rushed to the places affected by natural disasters
and has helped to restore basic infrastructures. He recalled that
the water supply scheme of Ochusht village was also restored within
twelve hours of the occurrence of the incidence which had
devastated the village.
