Advisor to Prime Minister Asi-ma Alamgir visits Chitral

CHITRAL: Multi sectoral development projects have been initiated in Chitral to change the socio economic status of the people of Chitral. This was stated by the advisor to the Prime minister for states and frontier region and national coordinator for IDPS Asma Almagir while addressing party workers including women wing here on Friday. She said that president Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani are fully aware of the issues and difficulties of the people of Chitral. “I am undertaking this tour on the directive of the president and Prime Minister to discuss issues and problems faced to the people of Chitral. Asma Alamgir said that Banazir Bhutoo Shaheed University would be established in Chitral. Referring development of Chitral she said work on the Lawari Tunel and Booni Shandoor Road is in Progress while more mega projects would be initiated in future to bring progress and prosperity in the area. She assured the party workers that Booni Shandoor road will be handed over to National Highway Authority. She said PPP is a progressive and forward-looking party and believe in the political and economic empowerment of the women folk. For this purpose four community centers will be established at Garumchashma, Booni, Drosh and Chitral Town. She also assured the party workers that Chitral will be given its due share in the Malakand Development package. She also announced to upgrade Chitral Border police. Asma Alamgir Said that Chitral has been strong hold of PPP and it will remain so with the support of the workers She advised the party workers to remain united for the success of the party in future. She pledged to establish Nursing school in Chitral.

Earlier, when the adviser to the Prime minister arrived Chitral on a two day visit she was warmly received by the provincial minister for Population welfare Mr. Salim Khan, party leadership and workers at the airport
