PML Leaders condemn firing on MNA Shahzada Mohyuddin

CHITRAL: The district president of PML-Q and former MPA from Chitral Saeed Ahmed Khan and other party leaders Siddiq Ahmed, Jahangir Hussain, Fida Ahmed Khan and others have condemned the indiscriminate firing on Chitral MNA Shahzada Mohyuddin at Phurate Gol of Sheshikoh valley aimed at his murder. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, they demanded of the government to take into task the responsible elements. They alleged that the opponents of the MNA used hired assassins to oust him from the land which he had won in the Supreme Court of Pakistan after prolonged litigation. They demanded implementation of the apex court’s verdict in its entirety without allowing any one to take law in their hands. They further alleged that after failing to prove their right in the court of law, the Gujjar community has descended to politicize the issue and win the sympathies of the common people. The PML leaders said that the people of Chitral know the facts by themselves and no attempt to disparage the mass popularity of Shahzada Mohyuddin will succeed who has returned to the national assembly from the area for the fourth time. they warned the government that if the government did not curb the menace of terrorism in its roots, then the ideal situation of peace and harmony of the district will be jeopardized. They demanded the arrest of all the people nominated in the case of firing on the MNA alongwith their accomplices.

Compensation sought for the loss of horse for polo player

CHITRAL: The president of district polo association Muhammad Saeed Khan Laal has demanded of the sports minister to compensate the player of polo who lost his horse during the ongoing district polo tournament. In a press release issued here on Tuesday, he said that polo is most expensive of all games but the game is still popular in this area despite the rampant poverty. He said that the accidental death of the horse of a player meant closure of the game for him for good as one can hardly purchase another horse. Demanding compensation of one lakh rupees for one Abdul Jahan Khan of Garam Chashma team, he said that the government should help the player who has the capacity to represent the district in the Shandur Cup polo tournament against Gilgit.

Gujar tribe warned to maigrate from the District

CHITRAL: The elders of Gujar clan from Sheshikoh valley have warned the government that they migrate en masse from the district if the innocent people arrested in connection with firing on MNA Shahzada Mohyuddin were not released forthwith. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Haji Muhammad Shifa, Haji Khan Muhammad, Qazi Abdur Rauf Shirati, Abdul Quddus, Abdul Hakim Khan and others alleged that the local MNA is trying to oust the people of Gujar clan from their homes in Phurait Gol area of Sheshikoh valley. They added that on their resistance, the local police registered cases against forty eight persons of their clan under suppression of terrorism act and arrested three of them including a former union nazim Sher Muhammad. They implored that the arrested and the nominated persons are all innocent and they are not involved in the firing on the MNA while he was in the valley. They said that the population of the Gujar clan has crossed 30 thousand and they have been living in the valley since long and possessed land there by inheritance and purchase. They claimed that the people of Gujar clan protected their valley from the Taliban of Swat last year with which it is adjacent. They reiterated that they cannot be terrorist but all they are law abiding citizen and the cases against them must be quashed forthwith.
