CHITRAL: The directorate of archaeology
and museum, Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa has excavated ancient graves dating
back to 17th century B.C. at Parwak Mastuj village, 100 kms in the

Tuesday, field supervisor of the excavation team Zarawar Khan, team
supervisor Fawad Khan and curator of Chitral Mir Hayat said that
the new finding will lead the researchers to explore new facets and
features of Aryan civilization. They said that the peculiarity of
the findings is the presence of images of both men and animals
curved on stones of large size. They added that the people were
civilized to a greater degree and their settlements situated in the
footsteps of hillock shows that they were using different means to
make their lives comfortable. They said that scars found in the
skulls of most of the dead showed that they were tortured to death.
They added that the graves were in many ways different from the
ones discovered in Gankorini of Singoor, Bumburate, Drosh and
Parwak Payeen. Regarding the development of archaeological sites in
the district, they said that the director of archaeology and
museums Saleh Muhammad Khan is evincing keen interest and
excavation will be carried out in more sites of their map. They
said that to preserve the ancient treasures, museums will be set up
in Booni, Drosh and Bumburate by their department. They said that
Chitral is the paradise of archeology and its leverage can be used
