Life of an Exodus child of Bunner and Swat
district-Pakistan
By: Hina Mahmuddin
In this world, every human being has certain
needs in their lives but three basic needs are most important. It
includes food, shelter and warmth. Many people in this world are
fortunate who can fulfill these without any obstacle, but few
people are amongst those also; who are less fortunate and can’t
even fulfill their three basic needs. Few reasons of not meeting
these basic needs can be due to poverty, fewer resources available,
unemployment and crisis situation and many others.
In Pakistan, Swat and Bunner Crisis situation had been very much
highlighted in media. It is primarily due to unresolved conflict
and disputes of various extremist in that region. They want others
to live life according to their set rules and limitations. Due to
these crisis situations, people have migrated to another area. They
evacuated their native homeland just for the sake of taking some
peaceful breath in open air. Indeed children are the most
vulnerable group amongst them.
Often, it is very well quoted that there is no seven wonders in the
eyes of a child. They are always seven million. Means, children are
the one who are full of innocence and blissful cheers. They have
seven millions wonders in their smiling eyes. But then what about
seven million wonders in the eyes for these children, who had faced
very terrible conditions in their lives.
Think of these innocent children who even really don’t know what
the conflicts are, why it happen, why a man fight with another man,
why their parents and their siblings are being harshly killed.
They have faced a terrible experience of the continuous war and
conflicts in their native lands right from their birth. They have a
great psychological jerk in their minds when they see a man
fighting with another man. Extremist firing bullets and exploding
bombs in these kindergarten children schools.
The Displacement and shift of these children from their homeland
has definitely faced interruptions to their education also. Their
future is legging behind as compare to other children of their same
age. Even though in these crowded camps, basic health care
facilities are not available at a maximum level. Minimum resources
are being provided to children for vaccination and immunization.
They also require safe water for drinking and proper shelter.
Many of the children have lost their parents and are deprived of
their parent’s warmth and affection. This is the age in which
children must have a productive and meaning early childhood
development, so that children could be grown up and built their own
future.
The future recommendations for these children are to provide them a
proper food and shelter facilities. The health care facilities and
education should be provided at an optimum level for their healthy
growth and development. Although, our government and UNICEF is
working hand in hand to make the situation better but that must be
on massive level. It is a responsibility of all of us to stand up
and make an effort to serve our native fellow being. All of the
facilities must be rendered to them, for their bright future
without any further interruptions.
