Two Districts demands for Chitral
From our Correspondent
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Minister for Population
Welfare, Saleem Khan has strongly demanded that District Chitral
may be divided into two districts by giving the status of districts
to the existing two sub divisions of the districts, adding that
Chitral is the largest district of the province in terms of area,
and its population is scattered in seven far flung and mountainous
vallies due to which it has been very difficult for the local
administration to smoothly run the administrative affairs of the
district. In a statement issued here he has said
that the total area of Chitral is 14850 kilometers with a total
population of about six lacs. Due to scattered population, peculiar
geographical and seasonal condition the people of the far flung
vallies faces numerous problems to have access to the district
headquarter, therefore; it is the need of the hour to divide the
district in to two, he demanded. A resolution to this effect will
soon be filed in the provincial assembly, Khan added. |
