Mobile culture in Chitral
Being the part of global world we need to make our life consistent
and utilize the sources and resources appropriately which is in
consonance with our culture and way of life. Computer, internet and
cellular phone are the results of technological development.
Scientists worked in this field to make life of man prosperous,
luxurious, and easy in this planet. As a result of great works on
the part of experts led to the innovative technological development
transformed the world into a click or push button era.
Chitral is unique due to all its manifestations.
The introduction of mobile service has led to the complex social
problems to our society. Even the educated and matured member of
our society is least considerate with regard to cellular phones and
its use. Mobile is not a problem as such for us because it is an
indispensable fact and has become integral part of our life. Life
seems to be very difficult without it. But its unethical use has
created grave challenges to our society.
Here one thing I am trying to bring to light is
that the use of cellular phones particularly in Chitral and
backwards areas of Pakistan generally has become a menace for our
life style, culture and secrecy and even to the money and time.
Parents have given mobile phones to their children to facilitate
their daily needs and make easy access with family but not to have
MP4 with modulating multi-functional cell to be used only to take
photos, listening music, and to exasperate the innocent and simple
natured people by changing voice. Videos, photos and music are the
part and parcel of our life. We by saving them can remember and
recall memorable days of life. But the new developing culture of
mobile is without a rationale. These electronic gadgets are used
inappropriately and unreasonably in Chitral particularly youngsters
ignoring their very purpose putting aside.
Eye-catching message packages have led to
another method of making the life of man more complex, anxious,
perplexed and mysterious in terms of miserable relationship. It is
just like the fake friendship is made in the face book which is
nothing more than waste of time and money.
Civilized people are identified only by
civilized manners which are universal in the world in terms of
their applicability. Our youngsters need to be curious, civilized
and responsible individual in such matters which are against the
moral ethos and ethical etiquettes. Parents and elders should
therefore, carefully address these problems abruptly before getting
matter bad to worse.
