They said that the area connects Chitral with Badakhshan area of Afghanistan and has served as important trade route between Chitral and Afghanistan. They further complained that in the district border force which has been raised to check smuggling and illegal crossing of borders, the residents of Gobor have so far been neglected altogether while they can more helpful due to their intimacy with the local routes. They demanded of district coordination officer of Chitral who is also the commandant of the force to include maximum number of youth from the area in the forthcoming recruitments which is in progress. They said that the proposed Chitral-Tajikistan road will pass through the area but some elements have been active to get it diverted to Baroghil Pass only for their political ends. They stressed that the road via Gobor is the shortest and safest of all and the government should ignore such impracticable and selfish proposals.
