Training Workshop for Honey bee keeper held
in Kalash valley

CHITRAL: Hashoo Foundation Chitral provided training to 48
men and women in honey bee keeping in Kalash valley. Training was
arranged in partnership with International Fund for Agriculture
Development (IFAD).
According to detail, a five day training workshop was organized in
Rumboor Valley in which 28 men and women were trained in Honey Bee
Farming. A similar five-day training workshop was held for 20 women
and men in Birir Valley. Mr. Ajaz Ahmed a Natural Resource
Management specialist from NWFP Forest Department Chitral was the
resource person of the training workshop, who competently
transferred his skills to the interested women and men.
The Concluding session held here on Monday. Speaking on the
occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr. Hasan Wali District Sport Officer
Education Department Chitral appreciated the efforts of Hashoo
Foundation for organizing a training programme for promoting
organic honey in Kalash Valley of Chitral. He further said the
honey produced from Kalash valleys was known for its being organic
and pure in its substance and taste and now it was being promoted
as an enterprise for the people of Kalash valley.
Earlier the Regional Program Manager, Mr. Noor Alim explained the
objectives of training programmes of Hashoo Foundation, which has
been working with other partners for the development of the people
in Chitral. He further said that the development work being a
process may take time to have positive impacts on the lives of the
people. He said that Hashoo Foundation is working on different core
programmatic areas which include economic development, education
and skill development, special needs and social welfare and
emergency relief.
It is worth to mention here that Hashoo Foundation is facilitating
in marketing the honey products from Northern areas and Chitral
into Islamabad and is also promoting the products as an organic
one.
