Chief Minister Amir Khan Hoti visits Chitral

CHITRAL: Chief Minister NWFP Amir Haider
Khan Hoti has said that the people of NWFP are fighting the war of
the survival of the country.Addressing a public gathering here on
Monday he said that the people of province are fully aware and
united against the evil design of terrorist . He announced that
Lawari tunnel will remain open for two hours on daily basis for the
facilitation of in coming and out going passengers. He said that
Chitral will be come trade city after the competition of Lawari
tunnel. The Chief Minister announced to establish a new power house
at Chitral which will be named Shaheed Banazir Bhutto Hydel power
house. He also announced to construct the long awaited bypass road
at a cost of three hundred million rupees. This road, he said will
be called Abdul wali Khan bypass road. The Chief Minister also
announced to double the number of Chitral police force and recruit
two hundred community Police personnel. Amir Haider Khan Hoti also
announced to provide 4 dialysis Machines to Chitral He said that
Provincial resources should be provided to the District on the
basis of area . Earlier the Chief Minister innugrated the newly
constructed Doctors Colony and Children Hospital. The Chief
Minister was accompanied among others by Dr. Arbab Alamgir Federal
Minister for Communication, Senator Zahid Khan, Provincial
information Mian Iftikhar Hussan, Chairman NHA Choudry Altaf and
IGP NWFP Malak Navedd. Provincial Minister for population welfare
Saleem Khan presented welcome address on the occasion, while member
provincial assembly Haji Ghulam Muhammad apprised the chief
minister about the problem for his constituency. Earlier the
elected representatives of Chitral presented traditional Chitrali
Chugha (cloaks) to the distinguished guests.
Meanwhile Federal Minister for Communication Dr. Arbab
Alamgir has said that Chitral will enter into a new era of
development and prosperity with the completion of Lawari Tunnel.
Talking to media men here on Monday he said that Lawari Project was
the dream of Shaheed ZA Bhutto which be said will be completed
soon. Dr. Arbab Alamgir said that Survey of 82 KM Chitral
Tajikistan Road has been carried out and Chitral will be connected
with Tajikistan through Lawari Tunnel. Dr. Arbab said that
development of Chitral has been on top priority of Pakistan Peoples
Party. He said that that the design of Lawari rail tunnel has been
converted in to road tunnel which is more durable, sustainable and
cost effective then rail tunnel. The Minister said that keeping in
view the difficulties of the people of Chitral the Government has
decided to keep the tunnel open for two hours to facilitate the out
going and incoming passengers on daily basis. The Minister said
that he will visit the site next week to determine the pace of work
of the project. Chairman NHA Choudhry Altaf, GM Lawari tunnel Engr.
Samad Khan and officials of the construction Company were also
present on the occasion.
