“ Opening of Lawari Tunnel”
Opening of Lawari tunnel for passengers and transport goods daily
for two hours is a good step in the right direction. With the
closure of Lawari top, hardships of the people of Chitral had
increased manifold. But the decision of the Govt, NHA and Korean
Engineers to allow traffic through Lawari tunnel during lunch break
has solved the problem, if it is made permanent tills the opening
of Lawari top. This decision has been welcomed by all segments of
our society and people in general took sigh of relief.
Trucks laden with essential goods of daily life unloaded the daily
items for Chitral, Drosh, Garamchasma and Booni Bazaar, which
created happiness among the people, because the road via Kunar
Afghanistan was unsafe during the closure of Lawari top. Chitrali
people who are working and studying in down country also celebrated
Eid with their families this time, as it was so risky for them in
the past.
The opening of tunnel for all sorts of traffic has also lessened
the distance and saved time of transporters and passengers. Despite
lessening the distance, transporters charge the same fare although
this time they have able to save fuel. Truck transporters also
charge unreasonable fare on goods, which has caused price hike in
Chitral. It is very strange that administration has not taken
notice of this problem. If Govt. take immediate notice of this
matter and take proper action then it will help reduce the
skyrocketing prices of essential commodities of daily life.
Therefore it is requested that keeping in view the new route and
short distance, due to traveling through tunnel, concerned
authorities should review the existing fare formula for all sorts
of goods and passenger traffic, so that it could lessen the
sufferings of the people and establish writ of Govt. on
transporters and Chitral Bazaar.
Another request to the common passengers is that they should behave
like civilized people while traveling through tunnel. Our political
leaders should also stop politicizing this issue as they have been
doing for the several months, because it will harm the common
interest of Chitral.

PPP Government and current situation
Dear Editor,
First of all I appreciate the work and progress made by your online
newspaper. The issues discussed by the writers are of great quality
and shows their intense knowledge and interest. writing truth, and
printing truth is a difficult act these days and your newspaper is
doing this in a great and careful manner. Secondly Eid greeting to
you and your news team along with whole Muslim Ummah reading this
article.
Now coming to the real topic in which I want to express my views is
the current situation in Pakistan and the government role in it.
The people of Pakistan were expecting that a pure democratic
government will come into force after the elections. The elections
were held and PPP formed formed a coalition government with the
help of PML (Nawaz) though they are not a part of this government
anymore. People were expecting that PPP will take exclusive and
bold steps towards the betterment of a common man. The nation
expected that the educated youngsters will get jobs, the farmers
will enjoy good agricultural reforms. Almost two years have passed
but still Pakistan is standing at the same place. It does not end
here. some think that nowadays Pakistan is standing in its worst
position now. As being a democratic government it was PPP
obligation not to take dictations from western allies on its
security as well as national issues. During the Musharaf regime
Pakistan was blindly taking dictations from America and now this
act has reached to its ultimate peak. We are paying a very high
price doing so. The insurgency in fata and waziristan has cost
thousands of lives. Everyday we are are told about a suicide attack
in Pakistan.
The time has come that government should think about Pakistan and
Pakistani people. Other wise they will face an extreme hatred from
the people. This is the only chance to prove themselves. otherwise
they will have no place in future politics.
