Frequent and unscheduled electricity outages.

Frequent and unscheduled electricity outages have wrought havoc with the daily activities of the people of Chitral. Tailors, Laboratory technicians, Computer centers, Carpenters and other craftsmen whose business run with electricity sit idly loaded with the assigned burden of work needed to be completed before Eid.

It seems that some political game is being played at the expense of the masses, inspite of the fact that two diesel power generators are lying unutilized that can make for the electricity shortage of the town.

This deliberate power-breakdown shows that some forces are at work to malign and defame the PPP government as every time during the PPP regimes artificial load shedding is created so that PPP loving masses loath their party leadership.

Therefore the people at the helms of affaire are requested that immediate functioning of the diesel power generators should be started otherwise the detractors designs will materialize in view of the fact that our political representatives enjoy their lives in their luxurious, air-conditioned residents while poor supporters, lives have become miserable owing to the frequent power-breakdowns.

If our leadership is sincere to keep its party strength intact it should not only solve the current electricity crisis but also make long-term strategies for the over-all development of Chitral.

Load shedding In Winters.

Can anyone make sense to this that what's the point of major kind of load shedding during the winter season? It is quite obvious that during the winter season there is less use of electricity comparatively in rest of the year then why do we still face the problem of electricity and above of that high amount of bills have to be paid even though the consumption of electricity is less and load shedding is at its peak.

In houses there is no use of air-conditioning and fans because of cold weather which cuts down the usage of electricity and I am sure this does effect to the electricity suppliers as not much of the electric is being used then why do we have to face the load shedding problem for long hours in the winter season.

Even in offices, restaurants, shops and other places the use of air conditioning and fans is quite low and especially in areas like Lahore, Islamabad, and the northern areas. The temperature in such areas is so low that one cannot even think of switching on the fans during the day time.

The above details are enough to understand this that the electricity suppliers are making us dupe saying that there is shortage of electric power to be supplied which is all false. We the citizens must open our eyes and must be clever enough to see and understand that how our government and its institutions are taking advantage of its citizens by making them fool.

Lack of knowledge about religion

Dear Editor,

We have a number of religions, sects and schools of thought in our country who practice their respective beliefs without any prejudice to the beliefs of the majority.

Muslims of other sects, as well as non-Muslims, live in harmony here. If there is any law about which a Muslim feels that it has been framed against the Quran and Sunnah, he should go to the court. The problem being caused in the Northern Areas is, perhaps, because of lack of full knowledge of Islam. Therefore, it is suggested that the people of these areas be educated about Islam by the reputed Islamic scholars from down country.

The government or the locals both are responsible, they should have felt their responsibilities earlier but its not too late they have to amend this now.

Yours Truly,
Sameera Ahmed

Traffic problem in Pakistan

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities. the people who are not following the traffic rules and signals. Karachi city are suffering from variety of problem , terrorism, water scarcity, high price and unemployment. due to constant load shedding, the traffic signals go off without warning during such hours and cause horrific blocks. men or motorbikes in particular try to sneak out through the narrow spaces between cars which most of the tine result in accidents .
