SUGAR CRISIS

The sugar crisis is not simply a trade issue created by millers and loaders as portrayed by many including the federal and provincial governments. Scratch the surface and the issue became largely agricultural which is now being thrown at the doorway millers and stocks by the Govt to hide its own failure to take holistic view of the crap and mishandling of import process. The loaders are making many from the current crisis, at the cost of consumers.

There is drop in average and production, payment issue, farmers replacing sugarcane with high-priced crops like rice and even increasing sugar demand due to rising population. After 5 days the federal government not only ended the crackdown, asking the provinces to falling the suite, but included the like in new sugar prices but the cost of governments caving in is staggering for common man. The issue needs to be solved before the government starts claiming to care for common man keep sugar part of his daily diet.

This gap had to be met through timely import, which did not take place despite (ECC) in may, but the government had failed 15 import sugar cane to over came this problem. Government need to take immediate steps to solve the shortage and control the high prices of sugar in the markets. So that a common man can easily afford sugar, specially in the month of holy Ramadan. This is may request to the all government officials on the belief of all the people to over came this problem as soon as possible…….

Effect of Price Rise on the Common Man

Sir,

Inflation is a worldwide phenomenon but in our country, it is acquiring the shape of a multi-headed monster which is on one hand, engulfing the possibilities of progress and, on the other hand, making lives of a common man entirely miserable. It is not only playing havoc to our country’s economy rather it has deteriorated the people’s standard of living. An average man can not enjoy the basic human rights like education, law, health etc.

Through the column of your newspaper, I world like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards this grave and grim situation. In my opinion, certain necessary steps may be taken to check inflation in our country.

Some realistic policies should be framed.
Unnecessary expenditure and non-productive sector should be reduced.
Issuing of currency should be done carefully.
Efforts should be put to increase production of goods and services.
There should be restriction on the import of luxury goods.
Population growth should be checked.
The rate of both direct and indirect taxes should be raised so that the individual consumer may have less money to spend.

I hope that the government will look into this matter.

Sexual reorientation for gays and lesbians

What Research Shows , a study published by the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality based on over one hundred years’ experience derived from clinical studies and research , proves that it is possible for men and women to diminish their unwanted homosexual attraction and to develop their heterosexual potential without suffering any harm. This is a very convenient fact as the homosexuals’ experiences and risk factors related to medical pathology and of psychological origin or arising from relationships are much greater than for the population as a whole. In spite of AIDS, homos continue practicing unsafe sex, being the group with the highest rate of sexually transmitted diseases. It is a fact that over one third homosexuals are drug addicts and 40% of teenager homos report suicide attempts. Also, the number of mental disorders suffered by homosexuals is higher than for heterosexuals: eating disorders and personality disorders such as paranoia, depression and anxiety. Also, homosexual relationships are especially violent. NARTH, according to 600 clinical reports concluded that the sexual reorientation treatment was successful in many cases for many individuals who experienced unwanted behaviour/homosexual attraction but who had a positive approach, as a result of therapy or religious assistance.

From an ethical point of view, psychologists and psychiatrists must provide psycho-educational and therapeutic assistance to those gays and lesbians wanting a change of direction in their sexual orientation.
