Sold graveyard taken to court

The infamous but heavily concerned development eventually has been tabled before the Civil court of Drosh. The hapless locals of Kalkatak, led by young lawyer Ihasanuddin Advocate, whose graveyard was sold out by a fellow native to a non-resident buyer, now seek the court’s help and succeeded to get the apex court issue stay on the matter.

Ex-MPA Molana Abdurehman has released funds for the said graveyard on public demand which later on fell into the lap of a one local activist of JUI, and was reportedly sold out to a Pathan causing a great public resentment. The affected people of the Kalkatak knocked on every door but found no response which compelled them to sue.

Civil court of Drosh while accepting the plea has stopped further proceeding of the deal between buyer and seller.

Energy Problem

Dear Sir,

THE KESC and IPPS are constantly claiming that government departments have yet to clear their huge electricity bills.

They are saying that if they receive their dues, there will be no problem of cash flow, with the result there will be no problem of power flow. How come, because they will be in a position to enhance their production and they may bring it at the full capacity of their plants. This will be the proper way to solve the power shortage problem. The prime minister may ask Shauket Tareen who may inquire about the above issue and settle it down.

The details may be released to media as well, so that the atmosphere of allegation and counter-allegation is subsided. After all, they have to see our pocket and we must stop further rise in the cost of power, which is already unbearable.

One more thing, Mr. prime minister, we struggled a lot for the condoning of income tax, sales tax and custom duty on the import of alternative energy items like windmills, solar cells, but some CBR intellectual has again imposed six per cent duty on solar cells.

Everybody is suffering from power shortage, so it will be nice to condone all such duties on the import of alternative energy items.

CONTAMINATED WATER

Respected Sir,

The contamination of water is modern technology's curse on this planet. Every third citizen in Pakistan is forced to drink unsafe water. According to a report published by WWF, 20-40 percent patients in Pakistan hospitals are suffering from water-borne diseases, gastro enteritis, typhoid, cholera, dysentery, hepatitis etc. Also, 250,000 child deaths occur each year due to water-borne diseases. Health costs due to water contamination are estimated at Rs 144 billion. 15 out of 45 collected samples of branded bottles of water were found unfit. This situation is shared by all the major cities.

According to the monitoring programme of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), the water available in 25 cities of our country is harmful to health. Nearly 40 percent of our population is not getting clean and healthy drinking water. Water is getting polluted because of agriculture waste, and poisonous industrial and human waste. It contains many harmful substances such as arsenic, fluoride, iron, nitrate, cadmium, sulphate etc.

Water should be purified through enhanced chlorination to avoid the spread of diseases. Drinking water should be boiled before use.

These alarming statistics demand that immediate action be taken to improve the situation. The government should take charge of fulfilling its basic responsibility of providing safe drinking water to all.
Thanking You.

Suicide bombings

Sir,
I want to draw the attention on increasing number of suicide bombings. Two suicide attacks occurred at Islamabad international university. Terrorists giving different threats from two to three days about this that they will target now universities, schools, and colleges. Despite of strict security they were succeeded in their planning. Government is failed to control them. hence their is no big deal for terrorist to target any place they want even they can enter in strict security zones where security is high alert.

These attacks were growing very rapidly in all over Pakistan. First usually Peshawar is targeted for this but now Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi also became a target point for terrorists. Terrorists keep killing people and attacking government institutions with impunity almost everyday. Conditions are going worse day by day. Number of lives have been taken by these attacks. One thing we must notice that after announcing number of causalities government announces some money of lac or two lacs for the victims. Infect we knowing all this that this money is less for their whole families.

How long we all suffer from this even now we are not safe in educations institutions. How long we suffer from these type of heinous acts. Now we must take care of ourselves. And notice all the people around us. If we see any suspicious person then we must kindly inform police and move from that place. May Allah save all Pakistanis from these terrorists.

Supply of substandard drugs

Sir,

MY cousin, being pregnant was admitted, and delivered through Cesarean section at Shaikh Zaid Women Hospital, Larkana. She was not discharged.

The gynecologist reopened her unhealed wound. But the wound did not heal at all in spite of heavy doses of antibiotics.

We collected samples of antibiotics and knocked at laboratory.

The Drug Testing Laboratory shocked my relatives and confirmed that the antibiotic suspension contained nothing else but ‘talcum powder’.

My relatives appealed, cried and persuaded the crime and criminal drug store, but in vain. After three long years they arrived at a conclusion that until and unless ‘punishment’ is given by the court concerned and stern action is taken by government departments this mafia-like situation would continue to arise and it would engulf the whole system of public and private hospitals in the region.

Studies and investigations show that the huge wholesale market in Larkana that supplies medicines from Dadu to Quetta resorts to different wrong practices. It has produced negative impacts on human psychology and general behaviour.

About 250 medical stores, being supervised by local authorities, run there business without all ‘quoted standards’ fixed by the health department. Approximately 20 per cent of these stores sell spurious medicines, two per cent of them sell medicines with 50 per cent profit margin of the original prices.

Another factor must be studied that people having no lawful permission carry out these wrong practices from Lahore to Larkana. Thugs in Larkana’s wholesale market, under the influence of thugs of Lahore, have been selling these substandard drugs subtly and openly.

I appeal to the higher authorities to take special measures against such situation in Larkana where ‘dealers of death’ sell substandard medicines under the labels of ‘life-savings drugs’. Local authorities should not bargain the precious lives with a few coins and must adhere to standards.
