LACK OF FIRE STATIONS
Respected Sir,
According to international standard, the area
having a population of one hundred thousands must have one
hospital, one police station and one fire station having four fire
tendors of quality. According to an estimate the population of
Karachi is about 15 million. So to meet the requirements of Karachi
there should be 150 fire stations. Unfortunately, presently it has
only 20 fire stations with one snorkel to help the people in case
of fire incidents in high-rise buildings.
The Ignominy is that the fire tendors haven't reach in time to the
affected area. According to international standards, the response
time for reaching industrial area is 3 minutes, for high trade
areas 5 minutes and for densely populated residential areas 5 to 8
minutes.
But it is observed that the fire brigade teams not work
efficiently. They sometimes reach the spot in half an hour or even
more. The concerned authorities should pay attention to this
serious matter. The number of fire tendors should be increased and
teams should be incompetent, efficient and loyal to their
profession.
Thanking You

The Environmental Dilemma
Sir,
I want to draw the attention on the serious
issue of environmental problems. This issue is common world wide. I
would here introduce some of the problems like increasing number of
acid rains, hazardous waste, over population, global warming, rain
forest destruction and industrialization. Due to these problems
earth is getting destroyed day by day. We humans are actually
responsible for it.
First I want to explain about acid rains and
what were the major problems arise from it. It is a most important
problem of all cannot be seen. The invisible gases sulphur dioxide
and nitrogen dioxide that cause acid rain usually come from
automobiles or coal burning process. The level of acid rain vary
from reign to reign. In third world nations with out population
restrictions acid rains tend to be very high.
Hazardous waste which is through by the human
also create many problems. Individuals often throw out goods
without realizing that they are headed for land filled and could be
dangerous for the environment. The levels of dangerous waste
continue to grow. Industries and individuals continue to be largely
unaware about this environmental problem. Industries throw their
waste materials into oceans and seas which create a worse effect on
environment.
Rain forest destruction in another important
problem due to which floods come. According to estimate 50million
of rain forest are cutting down each year. World growing population
was a primary cause of rain forest destruction. People need more
lands to live and more woods to consume for their lively hood.
Limiting population growth may be the first in a series of steps
that would limit the destruction of rain forest.
Current fears stem largely from the fact that
global warming is occurring at such a rapid pace. Models are
predicting that over the next century the global temperature will
rise by several degrees.
Over population has been disastrous for our
planet. Greater populations consuming more ruining the environment
and creating or intensifying a variety of problems. Also with the
food supply limited increase in population make some shortages in
many parts of the world. The world population has been booming for
many years. This population is now threatening to reach the stage
where there are many people for the planet to support .
Thus, there were also many more problems. Our
actions can help to increase and decrease problems highlighted
above . These problems are no more a local problem its become a
global issue. Now its our responsibility of all of us to tackle
these problems and must think about their solution .
