330 million rupees allocated for Torkhow road ...MNA

CHITRAL: The federal government has allocated a sum of Rs330
million for the widening and black topping of Booni-Torkhow road in
upper part of the district, MNA Shahzada Mohiuddin told
chitraltimes.com here on Wednesday.
He said that out of the total allocation, an amount of 100 million
rupees has been earmarked for the project in the Public Sector
Development Program (PSDP) 2009-10 and work on the project will
start in July. He said upon completion of work on the 28-km-long
road, a long-standing demand of the area people would be fulfilled.
He said that the scenic valleys of Khot, Rech, Melp and Zewar Gol
will be exposed to tourism which were not easily accessible for
want of road while the exploration of the rich mineral deposit also
awaited road infrastructure. The MNA said that development of both
the sectors will ensure employment of hundreds of jobless in the
area. He said the federal government had also sanctioned funds for
timely completion of the ongoing projects in Chitral which included
Atahk water channel, widening and black topping of Booni-Shandur
road and construction of truckable suspension bridge in Mastuj.
