Rate of heart attacks on steep rise in chitral

CHITRAL: As many as four persons died of cardiac arrest
during the last 24 hours prominent among them being the former MPA
from Chitral Moulana Muhammad Jahangir Khan. Sources in the DHQ
hospital said that the other deceased included Haji Abdul Jalil,
Khadim Hussain and Fazal Mahmood all of whom expired on their way
to the hospital. The residents complained that the death rate due
to heart attack has increased to alarming proportion in the
district while both the two posts of district cardiologist are
lying vacant. They said that a special cardio unit should be
established in the DHQ hospital with cardiologists due to its
remoteness. They implored that the existing facilities in the
district hospital for the heart patients is equal to nothing.

Sartaj Nazim emphasises the need of peace for progress

CHITRAL: Tehsil nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmed Khan has said
that it is due the prevalent peace and tranquility in the district
that development works are in full swing without being hindered and
the people of Chitral should maintain it in the face of
difficulties. Addressing the oath taking ceremony of Traders Union
Chitral here on Monday, he expressed his satisfaction that
different strata of the society are playing their role positively
and the district is quite peaceful without being affected by its
adjacent districts. Mr. Khan said that the district government is
quite responsive to the situation and has taken a number of steps
to effectively check the infiltration of Taliban into the area. He
assured the traders community to solve their problems of sanitation
and street lights. Chitral DCO Motasim Billah Shah administered
oath to the office-bearers of the union including Habib Hussain
Mughal president, Zafar Ahmed vice-president, Manzoor Khan general
secretary and Abdul Wahid treasurer.

People’s Party Chitral and All Pakistan Clerks Association Chitral
have thanked the Provincial Minister for Population Weflare Saleem
Khan for his untiring efforts to increase the unattractive area
allowance of the government employees serving in district chitral.
In their separate messages of gratitude for the minister both the
organizations have said that Saleem Khan has proved himself a true
servant of the people of Chitral by making successful efforts for
the long lasted demand of the employees of the area for which the
people of Chitral are grateful to him. The organizations have also
thanked the minister for getting funds allocated in the provincial
budget for the development of marble industry and Kalash community
of Chitral and hoped that the minister will continue his efforts
for the development of Chitral in future as well.
