Three Kalash girls embraced Islam

CHITRAL: Three Kalash girls embraced Islam out of which two
were married to the boys belonging to Muslim community, Kalash
people said. All the three teen aged girls belonged to Rumbur
valley and included Jangi Gul, Shahi Zar and Bushra Gul, they said.
The marriage was solemnized in Ayun village which is adjacent to
Bumburate valley and Bushra Gul is yet to find a life partner from
the Muslim community, a resident of Ayun said. Another resident of
Ayun said that the Kalash girls had no compulsions and they were
not subjected to coercion by the Muslim community but they did it
at their free will. He added that the conversion of Kalash to Islam
is a routine matter which happens one or two in a year but this
time three girls converted at a time. Two of them had already
selected their life partners from the Muslim community.
