MNA Chitral denies allegation of PPP in
Benazir cards distribution
By Zahiruddin
CHITRAL: MNA from Chitral Shahzada Mohyuddin has
categorically denied the allegation of nepotism and bungling
leveled against him by the PPP leaders regarding the distribution
of Benazir Income support programme (BISP). Addressing a press
conference here on Tuesday, he said that most of the cards were
distributed among the poor women through the PPP leaders and
workers on union council level. He alleged that one of the leaders
of PPP Mir Dullah Jan advocate sold the cards in the three union
councils of Lotkoh in lieu of cash amount. He said that the
distribution of the cards was entrusted to different leaders of all
the union councils of the district. He mentioned the names of PPP
leaders Zahir Shah (Ayun), Sharif Hussain (Koh), Syed Burhan Shah (Kosht),
Kashafat Youus (Booni), Afzal Aman (Laspur), Muhammad Amin (Broze),
Nizamuddin (Torkhow) and others. Expressing his astonishment over
the allegation by these leaders he said that the sole
responsibility of wrong distribution rests on them as he had placed
the cards at their disposal for fair distribution. The MNA said
that he will accord welcome to the enquiry if it is initiated from
the federal government as it will divulge the very PPP leaders who
had committed favouritism and bungling while distributing the
cards. He said that in the future, he will not involve the PPP
leaders and worker in the process of cards distribution but will
carry out by himself so that the really deserved women could be
benefited. The PML-Q MNA, meanwhile, hailed the decision of prime
minister for his announcement of waiving off the small agricultural
loans to the farmers of Malakand Division. He demanded similar
concession in other nationalized banks and financial institutions.
