Minister directed to ensure timely completion of Shishi Hydel Project

CHITRAL: NWFP Minister for Population welfare Saleem Khan while Showing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on the under construction Shishi Hydel Power Project in Chitral, has directed the concerned authorities of SHYDO to accelerate work on the project to ensure its timely completion so that the issue of power crises could be managed and the people of the area could get rid of the problem of load shedding in the upcoming summer. He warned the concerned authorities that delay in the completion of projects of public welfare could not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the negligent in this regard.

He issued these directives while talking to the project director of SHYDO, other concerned authorities and contractors during his visit to the Shishi Hydel Power Project in Chitral the other day. On the demand of public representatives Saleem Khan also directed the concerned quarters to ensure provision of electricity to the adjacent Madaklasht valley from Shishi Hydel Project.

Later on while addressing a public gathering at Drosh, Saleem Khan felicitated the people of Chitral on the promulgation of Adl Regaulation in Malkand Division and said that the government has fulfilled a long lasted demand of the people of Malakand division including Chitral which will ensure the provision of speedy and easy justice to people of Malakand. The government by rejecting all sort of international pressures in this regard has proved that Pakistan is a sovereign state and it does not accept any dictation in its dicisions, he added.

Saleem Khan said that provision of basic facilities of life to the people was the top most priority of his government and all available resources were being utilized for the same adding that besides a degree college a water supply scheme costing 50 million rupees has been approved for Drosh area and work would soon be started on them.
