CHITRAL: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Saleem
Khan inaugurated two schemes at Arandu village on Pak Afghan border
area. He was warmly welcomed by party workers, children, students
and elites of the area. Provincial Minister inaugurated water
supply scheme for Arandu goal with a cost of 7 million rupees. he
also inaugurated of newly constructed of Rural Health Center (RHC)
which was upgraded from Basic Health Unit (BHU) at Arandu. A simple
but prompt function was also held in this regard. Dr Yaqub Medical
officer o f
the hospital briefed the Provincial Minister about the history of
this health unit which was built here in 1961 as civil dispensary.
Later on it was upgraded to BHU in 1991. the building of BHU was
badly damaged and affected by firing of rocket launcher fired by
two tribes in their enmity. As well as it was also affected by
Russian air attack. He said that this health unit provide all basic
services to patients of this area as well as some patients also
come across the border. He complained of acute shortage of staff in
the hospital and demanded for fulfilling of vacant posts. Haji
Gulsamber Khan chief patron of PPP demanded of lady doctor in the
hospital and black topping of 45 KM Arandu road connecting Chitral
with Afghanistan and passengers use this route in winter season
while the only land route of Chitral remain block at Lawari top by
heavy snowfall. He also demanded of up-gradation of girls primary
school to middle one and construction of some other high schools
for boys and girls both in the area to increase literacy ratio in
this backward area.
Sher Muhammad Nazim Union Council Arandu demanded of blacktopping
of 20 KM Arandu goal road where people carrying wheat and essential
food items at their back coming by feet taking 8 hours at a hill
area way. He also demanded for 5 KM long irrigation channel and a
up-gradation of civil dispensary of Dameel goal into a BHU. He also
demanded for improvement of communication network and provision of
telephone line and mobile service in the area. The other speakers
demanded banning of illegal cutting of forest where million of
trunks are cutting and smuggling to Afghanistan area. They also
complained of no furniture in schools of the area. District Naib
Nazim Sultan Shah thanked people of Arandu on behalf of Lutkoh as
Saleem Khan belongs to that area and voters of Arandu success him
in election 2008. he said that Arandu was ignored in past
deliberately but now more uplifts schemes would be launched here in
PPP Govt.
Provincial Minister Saleem Khan thanked the dwellers of the area
for warm welcome to him and casting their vote in his favor. He
felicitated the public for imposing of Nizami Adal (Sharia Law) in
Malakand Division including Chitral. He said that my first priority
is development of Arandu area which is most backward. He said that
PPP government facing a number of problems like law & order
situation in our province and infiltration of terrorists. He
emphasized on general public to must be loyal and patriot with
Pakistan and you should to not allow any terrorist from across the
border in Chitral. He said if our area remained peaceful we will
develop more otherwise all developmental schemes would be choked.
He appeal to all inhabitants of the border area to play vital role
in maintaining peaceful environment of Chitral. He said now Nizami
Adal also imposed here and you will find cheap justice at your door
step. He announced of establishment of 2 more schools in the area
and water supply scheme with 7 million rupees. He said a monitoring
team would also be detailed to strictly check and evaluate quality
of ongoing works. He also announced of supply of X-Ray, ECG and
other equipments to newly constructed RHC. He assured that local
people would be given preference in recruitment in any department
at this area. He stressed upon he masses to must send their
children to schools but no development is possible without
education. He announced of 120 million estimated for Arandu goal
road. He also announced that 1 million rupees have been earmarked
for Kamsai road and grain godown. He also proclaimed that girls
primary school would be upgraded to middle in next budget as well
as construction of power house is under process which would be
constructed with 150 million funded by Asian Development Bank. A
large number of people participated the open forum and public
meeting of the provincial minister.
