Sex Health Education in Schools
This article (may be taken as letter) is in response to my sister
Anila Muhahammad's" article "Sex
Health Education in Schools" appeared in "Chitral Times". She
has very boldly tried to elaborate her view point in favour of sex
education in our society.
According to her, sexuality is an integral part of life from birth
to death. She has referred Evans-2006, Walker, 2003, Husain, 2004
and WHO, 2006. According to her, sex and in tandem health education
gives safe out let to complete the sexual desires as well as
reduces unintended pregnancies, Sexual Transmitted Diseases and HIV
in the country. According to my sister sexual education converts
the sexual harassment in to comfortable sexual practices, so it
should be encouraged any way.
Perspective:
I take the idea in the perspective of clash of civilization and
what the western philosophers term as crusade and media war
exploiting the innocent and ignorant minds as my sister. There is a
famous quotation that "sex is obsession in America and Fact in the
other world" mean that the entire western culture based on sensuous
desires and materialism.
Three Desires:
There are three dimensions of human desires. Sensuous desires,
Intellectual Desires and Spiritual Desires. Perfect and
Comprehensive human or child development "purpose" is achieved
through streamlining all these desires in the curriculum and
cultural system. But Europe as you will read later has become more
obsessed about the first and has ignored the later two.
The elements that support such an idea as "sexual education" are
classified in two categories. (a) Ignorance and having weak
cultural and religious background. Such people blindly follow what
they are presented by the westerners without any critical analyses.
May be they are innocent.
(b) The organizations and Individuals who are receiving benefits in
kind and cash from the west. They willingly or tactically support
such ideas and prefer materialistic benefits over culture,
civilization, religion and historical values. The philosophy of
pluralism is adopted selectively and with discrimination and within
the line of imperialistic objectives. Such innocent minds as my
sister are become fuel to run the culture and political factories
of imperialism. They prefer benefits and connive the motives
behind.
What reveal Western Research & Literature
According to the Western Literature and Research: "Central Europe
is becoming the terrifying incest capital of the world" (Jessica
Sep 2008)
The familial child abuse and harassment became common in Europe and
sexual sensitization in class rooms has played a major role in
these developments. (US Department of Education Wiki- 2006)
Children become vulnerable (due to sex education and its
manifestation) to Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), infections,
lack of vaginal fluid necessary for proper grooming has decreased,
traumatic stress causes notable changes in brain functioning of
children. (Teicher et' al – 1993)
The Most significant problem of Europe to day is Child Sexual Abuse
which is more than 20 %. ((Corinne & Maria Herzog-2007)
In the Army, Navy and Air Force such sexual sensitivity and
awareness is manifested through sexual harassment and abuses that a
lot of energy of the administration shifted towards precautionary
measures and ceaseless enquiries. Although 60 % are not reported
and 98 % go unpunished. Rarely any female spared from Sexual abuse
and harassment in the military (Diana Simpson- 2005). Sexual
harassment and sexual abuse prevailing very fast in the US
military. (Tail hook Report New York-1995).
90 % of the contents are objectionable and the public protest to
the principal and local school board. Many sex educators and
classes indoctrinate children with sexual values that can cause
them irreparable harm. Modesty is considered as conservative and
satirical term in such an environment. In sexual education classes,
sexual behaviors are acceptable, including adultery, homosexuality,
and masturbation and free erotic discussions with the pair groups
and family members. 1-6 women and 1-53 men are sexually assaulted
In colleges 28 to 32 % girls are sexually assaulted. In 2007 there
were 248300 victims recorded (cases not recorded have not been
mentioned) in New York America.. In another report 1 female is
assaulted in every minute in America. 73 % rape victims are near
relatives and teachers of the assailants. Only 40 % are reported or
recorded and 60 % are not reported and recorded. Every 7th women
and every 35th men are sexually assaulted in their life time. This
is less than what is happened in France. According to Stephene, "in
these lessons the 'creeping sexuality' was surging as viruses and
overshadowed the other lessons.
Studies have found that psychological symptoms in 51 to 79 %
infections in the students attending sexual education classes". In
the latest studies reported by the British Medical Journal -1995,
suggests some remedies to discourage the teenagers to become
sexually active and sensitive through sexual awareness programs in
schools. In another report 17.7 million American women have been
victims and assaulted and raped. Among them under age 12 were 29 %.
"There is not enough direct evidence to determine whether any of
these educational programs significantly decrease rates of
premature pregnancy, sexually Transmitted Disease or HIV's".
(Kirby, Douglas – 2007) The Aga Khan Education Pakistan
Questionnaire was not accepted by the majority of the community
claiming it to be antisocial, uncultured and obnoxious. It was just
a strategy to adjust 30 million US dollars incentives offered to
launch such a programme. In a pluralistic world every culture and
religion is duly respected and cultural terrorism is not acceptable
in any way. All the above reveal the outcome and result of sexual
education in the west. Failing in preventive measures they are 50%
successful in their curative measures expending 12% of their
budget.
Pakistan & Society
In Pakistan where there are such advanced Institutions who emerge
with sexual education have caused damage to the very fabric of the
society, resulted polluted and perverted society which they
represent. Lower classes of the society enjoy better social and
cultural richness than the corrupt upper class.
The western intellectuals are of the opinion that it is not the
school's right and responsibility to educate children regarding
sexual issue! Schools need to stick to the basics, reading,
writing, math, basic sciences and history. Albeit spiritual,
religious and pluralism based education can be taught in a positive
and objective Modus Vivendi to develop a better pluralistic
society.
Europe has developed better and advance medical facilities, and in
that perspective the harmful incidents are not highlighted. In our
country we have not yet invented even an injection and vaccine for
any disease. In this perspective we cannot afford to deal with some
more complicated sexual diseases generating centers, called
schools, as we studied in the above examples. Morals, social and
religious values and modesty have been widely recommended by the
philosophers to reduce the diseases and agonies towards which my
sister has pointed out in her column. In this regard feed back will

Nature as a Guide
Nature it self is a better guide and teacher than these obnoxious
innovations. Such developments are the by products of imperialism
having ulterior motives behind. Deviation from nature and base of
culture will lead towards complications, and will result
degeneration of the fabric of society as is manifested in the west.
Westerners still unable to get rid of these social and cultural
taboos where more than 29% girls are raped and assaulted before the
age of 11 even by their nearest relatives (Langan and Harlow 1994).
Prevention is said better than cure. The best prevention is to
revive and re-invigorate our culture and its roots. We are not
monkeys and pigmies to follow every glittering that is not gold.

God Himself taught us how to have sex. It is not learnt
