DCO visits exam centres
By Zahiruddin
CHITRAL: DCO Chitral Motasim Billah Shah has taken a strong
notice of the poor seating arrangements made by the education
department for the candidates of matriculation examination
conducted by Peshawar board. The sources said that during his
surprise visit to a number of examination centres in the vicinity
of Chitral city, he found that the candidates, both boys and girls,
were attempting their papers sitting in the bare floor due to
sitting in the cold floor. Most of the candidates were reportedly
shivering with cold while due to the load shedding of electricity,
the visibility in the halls were very poor. The candidates
complained to the DCO of the insufficient facilities in the
examination centres and said that they cannot solve their papers
wholeheartedly and with content due to the inconvenience they
experience in the hall. The DCO asked the officials of education
department to provide chairs to all the candidates while he also
sternly warned the Peshawar Electric Supply company (PESCO) not to
repeat the power load shedding in the examination hours. The source
said that the DCO, however, found that no cheating or use of unfair
means was found in the examination halls.
