Mujahidur Rahman demands justice and security
By Zahiruddin
CHITRAL: Mujahidur Rahman, a resident of Jughoor village of
Chitral town, has demanded of the government to provide him justice
and safety against his elder brother who attempted to murder him on
Saturday evening. Addressing a press conference in the general ward
of DHQ hospital here on Sunday, he alleged that the district nazim
Maghfirat Shah is using his influence to save his opponent and the
police has yet to arrest him. He said that he had a land dispute
with his brother Jamshedur Rahman who called him to his home
Saturday evening for compromise but he allegedly opened fire on him
leading to critical injuries. He said that he was saved
miraculously from the pistol firing on him from close range and was
admitted to the hospital. He said that although the police has
registered case against the accused Jamshed and his accomplices but
no arrest has been made due to the interference of the district
nazim. He alleged that some months ago, the local police had
implicated him in false case of forgery to pressurize him to resign
his claim on the disputed land. Expressing his fear, he said that
the accused will go Scot free due to the explicit support of the
district nazim. He said that the police did not bother to post its
men in the hospital to provide him protection while the accused is
free and can attack on him again. Mr. Rahman claimed that due to
his implication in the false case, he lost his job in Saudi Arabia
and was rendered jobless. He demanded of the chief minister, chief
secretary and the IG police to rush to his rescue against the
perpetrations of his opponents who are openly backed by the
district nazim.
