Request to Political representatives of Chitral from CSWA NWFP.

On 7th October,2008 a group of Chitrali students headed by the President Chitral Students Welfare Association (CSWA) NWFP, Rizwan Ali Roomi, General Secretary Qazi Faisal, Senior Vice President Sajjad Elahi and other members, in the presence of Provincial minister for Population Welfare, Mr. Saleem Khan and President PPPP Chitral, Mr. Zain-ul-Abideen, met the Governor of NWFP, Mr. Owais Ahmad Kan Ghani, in governor house Peshawar.

The president of CSWA put forward the issues and problems regarding students belonging to Chitral studying in various institutions of NWFP, specifically and of Pakistan, in general.

The main points discussed with the Governor NWFP are as follows:
1. The reserved seat for backward area of Chitral in Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, should be restored as soon as possible, which has been transferred to Ayub Dental College, Abottabad.

2. The quota seats for Chitrali students should be separated from the students of Northern areas in each and every department of Peshawar University. Since the quota seats are the hopeful option for the students belonging to backward areas to get in university. The Northern areas students are enjoying quotas in public sector universities all over Pakistan, while students belonging to backward district of Chitral have quota seats only in Peshawar University. Therefore, the quota seats of Chitrali students should be separated from Northern areas as soon as possible.

3. The students from Chitral studying in various parts of NWFP are intensely facing accommodation problems. Therefore their accommodation in hostels should be made on priority basis.

4. The quality of education in Chitral should be made better for the betterment and development of the coming generation. This would be in fact helpful for the development of the country in turn.

The meeting was held in a very pleasant environment and the Governor promised to solve the issues of Chitrali students studying in various parts of NWFP.

Now it is the duty of the political representatives of Chitral to remind the Governor NWFP the promises made to Chitral Students Welfare Association NWFP. The students from Chitral have now kept their eyes on their political representatives and are hopeful that their problems would be solved on priority basis.

The CSWA is striving for the betterment of youth of Chitral. The steps taken in this regard are praise worthy. The CSWA will continue its struggle for the better future of Chitrali students in future also.

Thanks.

Rizwan Ali Roomi.
President CSWA,
Peshawar.
