Essay Competition Ceremony held

GARUMCHASHMA: An Essay competition ceremony held in Garamchashma, which was
conducted by Islamud Din Principal Pamir Public School & College
Garamchasma. Cash price of Rs. 20000/= was paid to Miss Saadia
Sabir, F.Sc Pre- engineering student of Pamir Public School Booni
who has topped on line essay competition. The prize money was
handed over to her by the Principal, Pamir Degree College
Garamchashma, in an impressive ceremony participated by teachers
and students of the College here today.
In his speech on this occasion Principal Pamir Degree College Mr.
Islamuddin who was organizer and jury of the competition, thanked
Mrs. Nighat Rooziman for sponsoring the competition and wing
commander ® Fardad Ali Shah for offering his website to the
competition free of cost. He also thanked Mr. Saifur Rehman of
Chitraltimes.com for his services in this behalf.
Elaborating the objective behind the competition, Mr. Islamuddin
said that the purpose of the competition was to promote creativity
and competitive spirit among students and create awareness about
issues relevant to Chitral’s all round development. He said that
Miss Saadia, in her essay, has highlighted the need to change
mindset and Mr. Nazrul Islam has called for reforms in education to
jump start Chitral’s development. He informed that in all 15 youth
participated in the competition which was below expectation as we
had hoped for more than 100 participants. Two of the essays were
adjudged best and prize was given to Miss Saadia and the other
winner, Mr. Nazrul Islam of Pamir Degree College Garamchashma was
excluded from the competition for being the son of the jury member.

CM approved Developmental Project for Chitral District

PESHAWAR: On the special request of NWFP Minister for
Population Saleem Khan, the NWFP Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan
Hoti has approved various developmental projects of Public Welfare
for district Chitral under the Chief Minister directives. These
projects include establishment of govt. Girls Degree College Drosh
and Civil Dispensary Domail (Arandu), Construction of Tehsil
Municipal Administration Building Mastuj and Hostel for Girl Degree
College Chitral and installation of Water filtration plants in
eleven Union Councils including Chitral-I, Chitral-II, Broz, Drosh,
Kuh, Kosht, Khot, Geram Chashma etc.
In a weekly meeting of MPAs with the Chief Minister, Saleem Khan
had requested the Chief Minister to specially focus on
developmental project in Chitral under the Chief Minister
directives keeping in view the backwardness of Chitral.
On this occasion the Chief Minister also approved 15 million rupees
for special repair works and purchase of equipments in three degree
colleges of Chitral including Govt. Boys Degree College Chitral,
Govt. Girls Degree College Chitral and Govt. Boys Degree College
Booni. It is worth mentioning here that no repair work had been
carried out in these college for the past eight years.
The Chief Minister also approved a Day Care Centre in Govt. Girls
Degree College Chitral for looking after the Kids of the female
teacher during their duty hours. Provincial Minister Saleem Khan on
behalf of the people of Chitral, has thanked the Chief Minister for
taking special interest in the development of Chitral.
