Shahzada Mohyuddin defends his support to PPP

CHITRAL: MNA from Chitral Shahzada Mohyuddin has said that he lent his supporting hand to PPPP in the presidential election for the sake of the continuation of the development project in which included the mega project of Lowari rail tunnel. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the MNA elected on PML-Q ticket said that nothing is dearer to him than the development of his constituency and it is due to this reason that he returned to the lower house of parliament for the fourth time by his electorates. He said that due to its enormous size and mountainous topography, the district is far backward and provision of basic infrastructures is yet a dream for want of funds. He said that a number of development projects were started during the previous regime of PML-Q among which Golen Gol hydel project, Booni-Shandur road and construction of truck-able bridge at Mastuj and extension of Sarhad rural support programme (SRSP) for rural development. He said that the present government has decided to continue all the ongoing development projects in Chitral for which he was grateful to President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani. He said that he had obtained Benazir Income Support Cards from the federal government which will be equally distributed among the 24 union councils. He said that the cards will be awarded to the really deserved women irrespective of their political affiliations and a transparent way will be adopted in this process.

Chitral Police arrests a fake policeman

CHITRAL: Chitral police arrested a person in police uniform who was impersonating himself as police constable here on Saturday. SHO of Chitral police station inspector Mohammad Khalid told chitraltimes.com that he spotted the suspect Mohammad Anwar, resident of Lotkoh valley Chitral, wearing police uniform in the Bazaar. He said that the person was arrested on the spot and his remand has been obtained from the local court and investigations are in progress and startling facts are expected to be unveiled to establish connections with the other crimes.

DCO Chitral presides over development meeting

CHITRAL: Chitral DCO Mutasim Billah Shah has directed the officers of different devolved departments to ensure the completion of the development projects within the stipulated time keeping the quality of the work. Presiding over a meeting of the officers in connection with the preparation of annual development programmes for the next fiscal year here on Saturday, he said that no laxity will be tolerated as the inordinate delay in the completion of projects causes problems for the people. A number of development schemes were discussed keeping in view their modalities for the area.
