Jashn-e-Chitral
There is very famous anecdote of Mula Nasirridin that once upon a
time Mula had to occupy the seat of arbitrator meanwhile two
persons visited him with an accusation, during his proceeding he
asked from the first person to give his arguments in relation to
the case as he presented his viewpoints Mulla said that you are
right while as he listened the annotations of the second one he
said that you are also right, considering this judgment of Mulla
Nasiruddin his slave who was seated beside him questioned that this
decision is very surprising both parties are right ? As he listened
to his slave Mulla very promptly replied you are right too.
After reading two divergent attitudes pertaining to projected
festival of Jash-ne Chitral in your venerated online news may be
most readers are confronting the same situation as the slave of
Mullah Nasir had to experience. One segment of our society
reminding us we are not in a position to hold such relaxation
because our public is in trouble side by side. Even many areas in
upper Chitral had to undergo very callous condition due to heavy
flood. This may be wise decision to spend our resources if we have
to rehabilitate those who are in pain or dispossessed.
While on the other hand my friend Mr.Saiffudin appeared with new
ideas that carry high worth in context to promote tourism in the
area which is considered the single source that could boost up our
economy and consequently will prove caring to alleviate poverty. So
such kind of activities like Shandur polo, Jashn-e-Qaqlasht and
Jashn-e-Chitral would not only be the source to highlight our
culture but will attract huge number of tourists and this is my
conviction that we could preserve our culture, tradition or customs
whatsoever we have through these resources otherwise we might be
part of history.
