Political culture of Pakistan
In Pakistan’s political culture one may find hundreds of
uncivilized behaviors and the one of the most uncivilized way is
welcoming the new comer with enthusiasm whoever he is doesn’t
matter and kicking off the leaving leader despite if he or she has
done well. This history stretches right from Yahyah Khan till date.
Today we are seeing the people are celebrating the victory of
Zardari I am afraid tomorrow the same people will distribute sweets
when he leaves. I wish he (Zardari) should serve the nation in the
best way and utilize all his capabilities for the betterment of
this nation and at the same time I must say that we some of our
people of Pakistan should not dance when he departs like a puppet
despite his all good doings .Today that’s what is happening with
former president Pervez Musharaf. To me it is unfair to be that
much thankless.
Today Alhamdulillah through a political and democratic process if
we have elected our new leader this is the success of democratic
process and this democratic success credit directly goes to former
president Pervez Musharaf no body can deny this fact because he
laid the foundation of this unconventional democratic process by
issuing national reconciliation ordinance(NRO). This is the lonely
example in the history of Pakistan’s politics, avoiding avenge and
moving towards reconciliation otherwise hundreds of examples are
there of political revenge and animosity in Pakistani politics.
Today if some one is criticizing his (Pervez Musharaf) policies
then that is a small group of people of extremely religious minded.
These are the people they are blackmailing people in the name of
Islam. They have a minimum knowledge of political and worldly
matters, They are not seeing the geopolitical situation of Pakistan
and its importance to the rest of the world. They are the people
they never ruled Pakistan and see the situation of Pakistan from
their drawing rooms and speak out whatever they want.
The crime of Pervez Musharaf was he tried to minimize the
Talibanisation in the country, he gave equal rights to women and
minorities. He decided that Pakistan should stand with the
international community in the war against terrorism. With the
above decision nothing can be find wrong as we don’t want Pakistan
should be isolated.
During Musharaf regime we achieved highest industrial growth, our
GDP growth was 7% plus a year, per capita income increased from
357USD to 600 hundred dollars, our foreign exchange reserves
reached to 15billion dollars, our stock exchange in Nawaz sharif
Govt its hundred index hardly had been seen at 2500 reached to
15000 in Musharaf regime and credit ratings were improving. Theses
are the indicators which show the growth of the economy. It was in
Musharaf govt he introduced computerized identity cards and
passports and made national data base and registration authority
now thousands of our brothers and sisters are employed is this
organization earning their bread. He was the Musharaf only he
introduced local Govt system and today we are finding our local
representatives at our door step to resolves our problems and he
launched many mega projects like Gowadar Port, Lowari Tunnel,
Bhasha dame, and many others.
Today it is not the age of to have emotional attachment with
parties but it is time of seeing realities and taking action
accordingly. I heard many people saying that if a dog is wearing a
specific electoral logo in her neck then I will vote for, it means
we are not weighing the capacity and capability of the leader whom
we are favoring or voting just we have an emotional attachment with
the party and who ever will come is acceptable.
