Pushing back upper chitral
Dear Editor
Through your esteemed online news paper I would like to draw the
attention of MNA Chitral, MPAs, District Nazim, DCO, EDO education
and literacy and the provincial education ministry towards the
discriminatory policies of Government Degree College Chitral.
For the last four years the administration of Govt College Chitral
has adopted the policy of "No admission" to students from sub
division Mastuj. They justify their statement that there is
separate Degree College for students of upper Chitral in Booni. But
the condition of Govt. College Booni is known to every one in
Chitral, where students are not seen after 10am in the morning due
to non availability of teachers. In the intermediate level this
situation however does not affect most of the students in the way
they find seats in the private colleges of Chitral. But in the
Degree level when students of upper Chitral are denied of admission
in degree colleges Chital they are left with no choice except to
appear in the exams as private candidates with subjects like
Islamic studies and law etc. which subsequently push them back in
low standard. This is not is any where in Pakistan that student in
the same district and even in the country are discriminated on the
base of regions/tehsils/UCs. The only standard is the merit.
However if the government college of Chitral is meant for lower
Chital than my humble request is to the all concerned authorities
to make justice with the students of upper Chital by appointing
staffs in Government colleges Booni. Secondly in the degree level
at least the students of upper Chitral having marks 60% and above
be given admission in Government College Chitral until Booni
College have regular teaching faculty. Otherwise we are
deliberating wasting our talented students from upper Chitral who
being the resident of the district have equal rights of higher
education.
