By Zahiruddin

He was addressing the concluding ceremony of two-week workshop for primary teachers under the auspices of curriculum development bureau of education department and Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) here on Friday. He said that no political influence could be employed in the transfers and postings of education department and no teacher will be spared who showed laxity in performing his or her duties. He said that to raise the standard of education and fight the ignorance in the society, the teachers must be imbibed with missionary zeal and dedicate themselves to the profession instead of making it merely a source of earning livelihood. Mr. Khan warned that the teachers who do not attend their schools regularly will be dealt with an iron hand and no excuse of any kind will be tolerated. He advised the teachers to seek jobs in any departments who are not earnest in the teaching profession because education is the foundation stone of any nation on which its future depends.
