One person died in Kuju by flood

CHITRAL: One person died and many sustained injuries when
flash flood washed away seven houses in Kuju village on Chitral-Booni
road in the early hours of Sunday. The villagers told Dawn that
they saved themselves by leaving their homes to higher altitude
when some people alarmed the approaching of the flood after the
torrential rains. The dead body of the deceased Sher Nafas was
retrieved from the river and laid to rest. District nazim Maghfirat
Shah visited the affected area and directed the concerned to
provide immediate relief to the people. Meanwhile, two more
villages Chuinj and Parkusap ( Mastuj) were hit by the flash flood
with heavy loss to the standing crops and fruit trees.

Slain police officer laid to rest in chitral

CHITRAL: Sub-Inspector of Swat police Amanullah was laid to
rest in Hinjil village of Karimabad valley with full official
honour here on Sunday who had died in a bomb blast in Swat on
Saturday. He had recently been promoted to the rank of
sub-inspector and transferred to Swat from Chitral police .
Provincial minister Salim Khan and Chitral DPO Sher Akbar were
present on the occasion.
