COMMODITIES DEMANDED IN THE BOONI UTILITY STORE

CHITRAL: The chairman of Beyar Local Support Organisation, Booni Syed Sardar Hussain Shah has warned to set the local utility store on fire if the commodities of daily consumption like sugar, ghee, cooking oil, flour, rice and pulses are not made available. Talking to Dawn here on Tuesday, he said that on one hand the federal government is beating the drums of utility stores and claim that the poor people are provided relief through the utility stores but for the residents of Booni it is not so. He said that in the local utility store, nothing is available other than tooth powder, tomato ketchup, chilly powders and biscuits. He termed it a cruel joke with the people of the area where people cannot afford to purchase the essential commodities from the bazaar. Mr. Shah said that the people were provided nothing during the much trumpeted first 100 days of the PPP government but the prices of commodities went increasing and went beyond their purchasing capacity. He said that there should be no any excuse for the shortage of commodities in the utility store as the Lowari Pass is opened for traffic. He alleged that the quota of the remote areas like Booni are black-marketed before they reach here. He demanded an inquiry about the shortage of commodities in Booni store of utility stores corporation of Pakistan.

ONE WOMAN MURDERED IN DROSH

CHITRAL: One woman was murdered here at Drosh on Tuesday over the dispute of pathway when she was pelted with stone by the opponents. Police sources said that Mir Gulab and Abdullah were busy in quarrel over a pathway when they started attacking each other in the course of which the mother of Abdullah died when she was hit by a heavy stone pelted from other side. He son Abdullah was admitted in the teshil hospital Drosh in critical condition. Local police has arrested Mir Gulab and his accomplice Habibullah and registered cases against them.
