The residents of Chuinj call for help

By Our Correspondent

CHITRAL: The residents of Chuinj village of Mastuj have said that the outbreak of disease in the area has become imminent due to the decomposition of the dead bodies of hundreds of animals under the debris of houses hit by floods caused by the torrential floods of last week. They said that no a single government functionary or elected representative has visited the area where tens of families have been rendered homeless. They said that the stinking carcasses of the animals have made life unbearable for them and they are forced to leave the homes which have been saved in the flood. The villagers said that they are forced to consume the highly contaminated water as the flood also washed the water supply scheme away. They have demanded of the government to dispatch medical team to the village with necessary drugs and also help the villagers to remove and dispose the bodies of animals from the debris.
